Accessibility is key in online video. Youtube is an invaluable host as it can present content for such a large sector of humanity.
There is still an art to export and compression as bandwidth is not universal and large chunks of the market can’t seamlessly watch HD – includes many corporate internet setups.
We’ll see what the future holds, but in the meantime we’ll walk that swinging, shifting tightrope of ‘good’ compression settings.
